If you have always wanted to play a direct role in the commissioning and development of new operas, ALT’s Commissioning Club is just for you! A special group of sustaining patrons, Commissioning Club members support the many new operas being developed at American Lyric Theater.  Members of the Commissioning Club are granted exclusive access to events at all stages of the development of new work. Members also have the opportunity to personally meet and get to know some of the most gifted composers and librettists in the country, who are writing new operas at ALT.

To ensure that members of the Commissioning Club have a truly personal experience, membership is strictly limited each season.

  • Exclusive Parties two times each season to meet and mingle with other members of the Commissioning Club, along with composers and librettists writing new works at ALT
  • The opportunity to host a private reception in your home for your friends and colleagues, featuring a performance of excerpts from a new opera in development with the composer and librettist in attendance
  • The opportunity to direct your donation to a specific new opera in development at ALT
  • Exclusive travel opportunities with other Commissioning club members to see ALT works at companies around the country (our 2012 trip will be to Atlanta for The Golden Ticket!)
  • Personalized updates based on your interests from ALT’s Producing Artistic on the status and progress of all new works in development at ALT.
  • An Invitation to ALT’s Annual Dinner with the Producing Artistic Director Board of Directors, and guest composer honoree
  • Your profile as a featured supporter of ALT and member of the Commissioning Club on ALT’s homepage (members profiles rotate on the homepage, and include a photo, short biography, and interview. Members may opt out of the donor profile on request).

Membership in the Commissioning Club is available to individuals or couples / dual membership.  Dues may be paid in automatic monthly installments, or in a single payment:

  • Individual Membership: $600 per year – or $50 per month ($520 tax deductible)
  • Dual / Couple Membership: $1020 per year – or $85 per month ($860 tax deductible)
