TEVYE’S DAUGHTERS
Created by composer Alex Weiser and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann, Tevye’s Daughters reimagines the beloved world of Sholem Aleichem through the voices and experiences of the women at its center. Richly emotional, profoundly human, and unmistakably contemporary, the opera explores memory, identity, generational inheritance, and Jewish family life with remarkable depth and beauty.
As the work now enters an important stage of its artistic journey, we invite you to help bring Tevye’s Daughters fully to life.
In Jewish tradition, gifts are often made in multiples of eighteen — chai — the Hebrew word for “life.” In that spirit, we hope you will consider making a special chai gift in support of this powerful new opera and the continued development of new Jewish stories for the operatic stage. All supporters contributing $180 or more to Tevye’s Daughters will be recognized in the program when the opera receives its world premiere.
