Are you wondering, “is the Composer Librettist Development Program for me?” Our CLDP Opera Writers Symposium was created to provide you with a taste of what we do at ALT — but we’ve only just scratched the surface! If you have enjoyed these seminars and workshops and are interested in telling your stories through opera, we’d love for you to consider applying to the CLDP.  As a composer, you may come from a classical music, musical theater, experimental or electronic music, popular music or rap background. As a librettist, you may have experience as a lyricist, a playwright, a poet, a documentarian, a spoken word artist, or a satirist. Regardless of your background, if you think opera could be an exciting place to tell your stories through music, we encourage you to apply for the CLDP. But what will you get out of your residency with ALT? During this information session and roundtable, ALT’s artistic leadership team, along with recent alumni of the program, will share details of the CLDP structure, schedule, and experience. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the CLDP and the application process. Please note that applications for the 2021–2023 CLDP cycle are due May 1, 2021.
